Today’s the last episode of Broken Veil our 6-part weird podcast series.
Hope you enjoyed where it went. And we hope it gives you some strange thoughts, asks some interesting questions, or at the very least induces some shivers. If you’ve only listened once, there’s plenty to go back for and listen again. It does, we hope, repay a deep dive. There are patterns and echoes all over the place. I’ve been editing it for months and I’m still finding stuff in there. (Oh, and do wait for the very end of the end, if you want the whole experience…)
Thanks so much to everyone for your kind words and encouragement.
It’s amazing that we put out a podcast made on a budget of £0, with no backing and no publicity, and zero expectation of finding an audience beyond a few of our likeminded mates.. and then managed to top the charts above the bloody Archers. All we knew for sure when we started was that this simply doesn’t happen any more. But Broken Veil has proved it still can – if people engage, say kind stuff, and do the word-of-mouth thing.
So, thank you all.
If you want to throw us some money to say thanks for the ride, either consider becoming a paid subscriber to this Substack. Or if you want to just chuck a coin or two in our Ko-Fi busker’s hat, as if you were buying an audiobook or leaving a fringe show you’ve enjoyed – which is how these things are funded now – then please do use the buttons below; one’s for me, one’s for Will…
We have no idea if there will be a second series like this one. This story took the best part of a year to put together (including six months where we just had our heads in our hands convinced it was not going to work… The usual.) Maybe if we can finance it, there’ll be more of these glitchy adventures in the strange. Maybe we’ll simply not be able to resist. I think the latter’s most likely.
But don’t worry, there will certainly be more to come in the Broken Veil podcast feed, along the same lines, so stick around and do give us a FOLLOW… There’s almost certainly going to be a Discomfort Blanket season on the way, once the dust has settled.
Thanks to all our contributors, Tony, Sara, Al, Paul, Tim, Mel and Rufus and Carrie, who were all incredible. And a big cheers to Phil and Josienne for their amazing music.
Don’t forget the soundtrack is available, for digital download or limited edition CD.
Cheers from both of us. We hope you had fun. We certainly did.
Right. Time to pack all these away.
Thanks Joel and Will! Genuinely unnerving right to the end. A relisten essential.
